SPORT FOR ALL, PLAY FOR LIFE
The Aspen Institute’s Project Play develops, applies and shares knowledge that helps build healthy communities through sports. No one can address the challenges alone. We work with leading organizations to develop solutions to foster quality sports activity for all youth, regardless of zip code or ability.
PROJECT PLAY RESOURCES
It’s not easy helping your child navigate today’s pressurized world of youth sports. Our Parent Resources page helps you ask the right questions of yourself, your child, your coach, and your sports provider to provide a positive experience.
Coaches are among the most important figures for kids. When they are grown up, what do you want them to say about you as a coach? Our Coach Resources page offers free courses, research and tips to help coaches improve their game.
Leaders can come from rec groups, national sport organizations, policymakers, education, parents, public health, business and industry, and technology and media. Our Leader Resources page can help you build healthy communities.
Is your team the best?
HEALTHY SPORT INDEX
There’s a sport for everyone. The Healthy Sport Index helps you make the most informed decisions with data and expert analysis on the benefits and risks of playing in the most popular sports. It also offers recommendations of companion sports to build skills and health.
Now, we’re searching for high school teams that are exemplary models. The Healthy Sport Index Contest will recognize one team in each sport that best encourages physical activity, minimizes injury risk, and supports athletes' emotional, social and mental well-being.
